I’m Tom Sheffield, and after spending more than 25 years in the corporate world—and experiencing business ownership myself—I understand what it feels like to wonder:
Is this really what I want the next chapter of my life to look like?
Today, as a Career Ownership Coach, I help people explore that question.
I’ve always believed that people are more likely to succeed when they surround themselves with others who genuinely want to see them succeed. That’s the role I strive to play for every client I coach.
My job isn’t to tell you what your next move should be. It’s to help you step away from the noise, better understand yourself, define what you really want, and explore the possibilities that could help you create it.
Through a structured discovery process, we’ll clarify your Vision for the future—your goals, needs and expectations, along with the Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity you want your next chapter to provide.
We’ll also explore your unique strengths, motivations and transferable skills, what you want more of in your life, and what you may be ready to leave behind.
Then—and only then—do we begin evaluating the possible vehicles that could help you get there.
Sometimes the right answer is staying in your current career.
Sometimes it’s creating a Plan B alongside your career.
And sometimes it’s exploring self-sufficiency through having a business to call your own, including franchise ownership.
If business ownership deserves a closer look, I’ll walk shoulder to shoulder with you throughout the journey—helping you ask better questions, challenge assumptions and evaluate opportunities through the lens of your Vision.
I don’t charge for helping my clients educate themselves about the possibilities of career ownership. There are many legitimate factors to consider when deciding whether having a business of your own is right for you.
I just don’t want fear—or a lack of information—to make that decision for you.
When I say, “Your success is my only business,” I mean it.
My goal is for you to come away from the journey with greater clarity, knowledge and confidence—regardless of which path you ultimately choose.
I hold an MBA from Webster University and a BS in Business Administration from Mars Hill University. I’ve also spent many years giving back to my community through volunteer leadership, including service with the Boy Scouts of America Greater Tampa Bay Area Council and several boards.
